Do you ever feel like the only peace you’ll ever get is after you’re dead? You’re just so busy and burdened with the duties of life that peace feels like a different lifetime? In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to lose sight of what really matters and become consumed by stress, anxiety, and worry. Through the practice of meditation, however, we can learn to cultivate a deep sense of peace and contentment, even in the face of life’s ultimate challenges; dying and death.

Ajahn Brahm and Venerable Canda bring a unique blend of wisdom, compassion, and humour  to the retreat, providing expert guidance and support as you explore the depths of your mind. Over the course of this transformative retreat, they will guide you on a journey of awakening, helping you to embrace the present moment and let go of the fears and worries that hold you back. Through a powerful combination of guided meditations, teachings, and discussion, you’ll learn to connect with your deepest wisdom and find a sense of peace that can carry you through any situation. Don’t wait until you’re dead to find peace!

The retreat consists of silent meditation practice, Dhamma talks, guided meditations, Sutta classes from “The Word of The Buddha,” and Q&A sessions. The schedule will be relaxed and the sessions optional. Participants will have full use of the whole building, including the main hall, rooms for walking meditation, lobby and kitchen for hot drinks. Participants will have full use of the whole Quakers building, including the main hall, rooms for walking meditation, lobby and kitchen for hot drinks.

Organisation is on a volunteer basis which keeps costs as low as possible and there will be opportunity to donate towards these noble aims at the end of the retreat.

If you would like to sponsor accommodation and travel costs for Ajahn Brahm and Ven Canda, please donate here, reference: ‘monastic costs.’

We may be able to offer some financial assistance to those of limited means through our bursary fund, collected entirely through the generosity of others.

You are welcome to donate to our bursary fund here.
