Set in a beautiful listed building in the heart of London, this non-residential weekend retreat is perfect for beginners and experienced meditators alike, with a capacity of around two hundred. This retreat will offer a comprehensive introduction to Ajahn Brahm’s unique approach to practice.

Retreats with Ajahn Brahm unfold in a characteristically spontaneous way and are packed with laughter, kindness, peace and insight. The weekend will include instruction for sitting and walking meditation, Dhamma talks, guided meditations (with both Ajahn Brahm and Ven Canda), live Q&A sessions, and anonymous Q&A sessions from ‘the box’ (aka comedy hour), where no question is prohibited!

We have exclusive use of the spacious Mary Ward Hall, as well as the beautiful Dickens Library, which opens onto a peaceful outdoor courtyard, ensuring plenty of space for resting and relaxing. An atmosphere of silence will be maintained within the buildings and courtyard at all times, to support the development of inner calm.

The retreat begins at 7pm on Friday evening with a programme similar to the live-streamed Dhammaloka talks, consisting of a guided meditation, Dhamma talk, and Q&A from the floor and ending at around 9.30pm. The programme will continue as follows: Saturday 9.30am-9.30pm and Sunday 9.30am-5.30pm. The venue is surrounded by food shops and restaurants of every conceivable kind, so you can be kind to your tummy as well as your mind.
We kindly ask that you do not contact the venue.
