Ajahn Brahmali Day Retreat : “Spiritual Growth Through Kindness & Compassion”
The Mettā Sutta looks at the entire spiritual path through the lens of good will and love. We will investigate how you can use the practice of metta to purify your virtue, to super-charge your meditation, and finally to take you to the deepest insights of the Buddhist path. Moreover, the path of metta is a path of happiness and ease. If you agree that the spiritual life should be uplifting and fun, see you there!
About Ajahn Brahmali
Ajahn Brahmali, renowned for his deep understanding of early Buddhism and a contagious joy in sharing the Dhamma, will be teaching this special retreat on the theme “Spiritual Growth Through Kindness & Compassion.” A close disciple of Ajahn Brahm, he brings the Buddha’s teachings to life with clarity and enthusiasm.
Where will the retreat be held?
This retreat will be held at the St Margaret’s Institute in North Oxford, near the lovely Port Meadow. We will have the use of main hall and a kitchenette for the whole day, and two smaller break-out rooms from 11.30-4pm, where you can eat your packed lunch and relax.
Click here for information on how to get there By Car or By Bus.
Simple, plastic chairs for meditation are provided. In order to maximise the space available we encourage you to use a chair, as we have only a few places for meditation mats (please bring your own mat if you need one, as well as any extra cushions, including for those sitting on chairs).
Please bring your own packed lunch and flask for your ease. Hot water will be available ~ please bring along tea and milks to share.
The retreat is suitable for both beginners and experienced meditators alike and will accommodate a maximum of 40 people. Please register early to be sure you don’t miss out!
This day retreat will include Dhamma reflections, guided meditations and an opportunity for questions and discussion.
